Ottumwa Duck Races

September 13, Greater Ottumwa Park is going to the ducks during the annual Ottumwa Duck Races! It’s an afternoon full of fun, laughter, and purpose, as families gather to cheer on a wild race of tiny yellow competitors, all while raising money for First Resources Corp. For as low as $5, you can adopt your duck and enter the race for a chance to win big. There will be prizes for top finishers and even the last-place duck gets a special “Dead Duck” prize.

But it’s not just about the race. It’s a full-on festival, with food trucks, live music, giant inflatables, face painting, car shows, and excitement for all ages. The fun starts at 4 PM and builds up to the main event at 7:15 PM, when the ducks are launched down a water track into the pond.
